Hello All,
Popular culture is what sells. I rush out to get the latest fashions because Oprah wants to sell me plus size clothes, when she is over her idyllic weigh. Also she lectures me on eating healthy (when she slims down) then I go buy various brands of lettuce.
Popular culture is relevant in my business environment when I want to sell myself to a promotion or a new job! They gotta wanna buy me, so I'm gonna plant the seed.
My example of a pop culture artifact is the TV show "The Walking Dead" I love this show because it reminds me that we can all become the walking dead when we let our desires dictate our lives. We buy! buy! buy! after awhile what is left? We have everything. We go to work to get money to buy more. We walk around like zombies on instinct alone looking for more brains to eat. Sometimes I picture myself as the survivor of the world-ending phenomenon, were I am running from the zombies (trying to stay sane). Most of the time I am the zombie. What can I say? I love brains!!!
